What is andromeda meaning?

Andromeda is a constellation in the northern hemisphere that contains the Andromeda galaxy, the nearest spiral galaxy to our own Milky Way. In Greek mythology, Andromeda was a princess who was chained to a rock as a sacrifice to a sea monster, but was ultimately saved by the hero Perseus. The name Andromeda comes from the Greek words "andro" meaning man and "medein" meaning to think or be mindful, and is often translated to mean "mindful of a man."
